Details about my background, history and future plans.
Work History
My technical background is mainly in Quality Assurance.
After initially joining Cap Gemini as a graduate, I joined the support team of a small startup company called Application Networks, who provided financial software to some of the worlds largest investment banks. Over the next few years, as the company was bought and merged with Reuters and eventually Misys, I moved more in specialising in Quality Assurance.
In 2015, I moved away from financial software to become QA manager to form a small team at Piriform, the makers of the PC optimisation software CCleaner. As a team, we focused on making sure our much-loved products performed to the standards demanded by over 2m users. Automated tests helped to achieve this, an automation testing using Selenium is a technology I am very interested in.
In 2017 I joined V1, a new technology consultancy based in San Francisco to focus on building a BDD approach on our development process with our partners.
Education
My first degree was in Management Science at Warwick Universty. Following that, whilst working, I completed my MSc in Computer Science at Birkbeck University, who specialise in part-time study.
Finally, in 2016 I completed my BSc in Mathemantics and Statistics at the Open University, as a part-time distance learning course.
Future Aims and Ambitions
I have a keen interest in developing my technical skills and knowledge, which was why I signed up for the BOV Academy of Innovation and Programming Full Stack Developer course.
My aim by the end of 2018 is to become a proficient Full Stack engineer, specialising in JavaScript, React and Node.
